KEITH - Horse Trainer, Master Electrician and Woodworker/Carver

Keith is a retired 7 time bullriding champion, 2nd generation wood carver, master electrician and currently working as a horse trainer and construction supervisor in Raleigh NC.

He is the current masters 4 bench press champion for Carolina in both the Iron Boy Powerlifting Federation and Raw Powerlifting Federations.

Keith started his rodeo career breaking horses with his brother on the family ranch. They spent many years showing horses, trick riding and winning bucking events till service called Keith away during vietnam.

When he returned to the states in 1969 and was stationed in Arkansas one of his horse training buddies got him to try bull riding in the RCA and he seemed to have a natural talent for bull riding as he rode straight to the top of the association pack.

In between bullriding shows he worked as an electrician and master woodcarver at his fathers company

Once his Vietnam service was fulfilled Keith joined the SRA and won two consecutive years as their bullriding champion. His natural balance and control bareback on a bull translated to uncanny horsemanship skills under saddle.

Keith has been a member of PRCA, SERA, IRA and countless small organizations where he rarely dropped below the top 4 contestants at each event.

During this time Keith could be found in many magazines on a regular basis as featured on the cover of Rodeo Arena (shown above)

Between 1970 and 1992 Keith earned 7 championship titles and a few regional awards in Virginia & North Carolina.

In 1989 Keith began training as a steer wrestler and while bulking up at the gym found his additional talent to be powerlifting.

He currently holds the bench press record for North Carolina masters 4 division with the Raw Powerlifting Federation. View his lifting profile on their website.

On any given day you will find Keith either training horses at Memory Field Stables in NC, creating unique one of a king carvings and cabinets in his woodworking garage or competing at horse shows around the state.
